What is Reimagine Equity at Work?

Reimagine Equity at Work is a workshop series offered by Be Culture to individual leaders outside the context of an organizational consulting engagement. The workshop equips leaders with a systems-perspective for overcoming inequities through a deepened understanding of the history of race in America, how to create equity in a system, and tools necessary for culture development.

What is Racial Equity?

Equity is shared ownership. Racial equity exists when there are systematic practices in place to ensure people of different racial categories have shared ownership in defining success and the rules to achieve it.

What is Culture Strategy?

Culture Strategy sets the relational expectations and practices that advances an organization’s business strategy. Be Culture equips leaders with a Culture Strategy that integrates racial equity in a way that helps individuals and the organization thrive. Effective Culture Strategy is developmental rather than assimilation-based and reinforces continuous enrichment over time.

What is Adaptive Leadership?

Adaptive Leadership is “the practice of mobilizing people to tackle tough challenges and thrive”. It is a leadership philosophy developed by Ron Heiftez, founder of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University, along with Marty Linsky and others. It is described in multiple books including The Practice of Adaptive Leadership.

What is Beloved Community?

Beloved Community is the vision Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. described when discussing his goal for a just and equitable human society. It envisions people united by love, living out justice.

Why do Diversity, Equity and Inclusion matter to my business strategy?

This is a question you need to answer for yourself. Moral imperative? Business strategy? Other? Research indicates that the organizations that are most able to maximize diversity are the most successful. Fostering the diversity of multiple perspectives helps drive innovation and growth. Equitable practices establishes inclusion as a partnership rather than perpetuating injustice.

How are Consulting, Workshops, and Learning Circles different?

Be Culture consulting is fully customized to implement a culture development strategy that best fits that specific organization. Culture change requires a long-term commitment and our consulting engagements are typically 6 to 9-months. Workshops are short-term, stand-alone opportunities for individuals from multiple organizations to expand their perspectives and strengthen their approach to integrating racial equity into their organizational culture. Learning Circles bring peers together in affinity groups over several months to help accelerate their culture change efforts through continuous learning, sharing strategies, and working together to overcome challenges.

What are Learning Circles?

Learning Circles is a new offering for our Be Culture clients. We connect you with peers through affinity groups that meet virtually to learn and strategize together. Contact us to find out when the next Learning Circles will take place.

Am I eligible to join Learning Circles?

If you have received Be Culture consulting services or completed a Reimagine Equity at Work workshop, you are eligible for Learning Circles. This is to ensure that all participants have the Be Culture foundation as a starting place for engaging in strategy, equity, and culture development.
